Debate format 8-10 topic

  • Introductions with no presentation of evidences
    • Simple intro and short non-debate topics
    • ~2 minutes each
  • Multiple rounds of the following format based on time allowed and interlocutor agreement
    • Interlocutor 1:
      • Up to 3 minute presentation of evidence: uninterrupted, the other party is muted
      • This is not a time to ask questions to the other side, just a presentation
    • Interlocutor 2:
      • Up to 2 minute rebuttal: uninterrupted, the other party is muted
      • Cross-examination:
        • Up to 3 questions are asked by Interlocutor 2
          • Questions are asked and answered one at a time
        • Questions are to be concise, the question is not a monologue
        • Interlocutor 1 has about a minute to answer, uninterrupted
        • Moderator is to enforce staying on topic
    • Interlocutor 2:
      • 1 minute wrap up
  • 9-13 minutes for one round
  • 8-10 rounds is about 2 hours
  • The order can be adjusted based on the agreement from the interlocutors
