Flat Earth Aussie Jesus

Flat Earth Aussie Jesus also goes by “Flat Earth Aussie Rosco” or his real name, “Ross Thatcher”. There are many concerning things that he says other than the flat earth falsities. I will give screenshots, make up your own mind.

This section concerns a debate that was potantially between myself and Ross.

Recently, Ross Thatcher, Flat Earth Aussie Jesus joined my discord server.  I had heard he mentioned a brain tumor, but this was not from him directly so I asked him.

Based on this information, taking him at his word, I was cautiously agreeable to have a debate with Ross.  Here is our email conversation:

At this point, according to Ross, the debate was tentative.  He asked to “Pencil me in” but had not agreed to a specific time.

Ross had been active on my discord server and had been abusive, specifically directed at some women on Monday, 2020-02-10:

I will not put up with misogynistic statements like this.  I created a segmented room on my Discord server and restricted him to that room.  I cannot allow abusing people in the main chat.  Some people were unhappy with me because this was not strong enough.  I decided it was a balanced approach.

He continued to berate and attack people, but they at least were choosing to be on the channel with him.  Several people engaged in a caring and empathetic way.  They encouraged him to do the right thing for his health.

This caused me to reconsider allowing someone representing this type of abusive behavior on my YouTube channel.  I investigated several things, spoke with people, watched some of his videos, etc.  It is quite clear that his alcoholism is a serious problem.  I am also unconvinced by his statements that he does not have a real physical ailment, tumor or otherwise.

It was for 3 reasons that I decided that I could not go forward with the debate:

  1. His misogynistic comments
  2. Alcohol abuse
  3. Concerns about physical health

I knew he would be unhappy and probably accuse me of backing out even though, at this point, the debate was penciled in without a set time.

I announced this to him at the end of my 2020-02-11 livestream with Flat Ferdinand.  I did this only because he was in the chat and had mentioned the upcoming debate.  Otherwise, I had planned to contact him privately after the livestream.

Since he addressed me on my Discord server, I addressed him in a public response:
