Flerfs say that in April, 1900 a newspaper article claimed that a teacher in England might be put in prison for teaching the earth is a globe. Flat earthers love to cite this as if it was a real likelihood. But, did they “do their own research”?

Here is the original article in the Grand Marais, Minnesota newspaper from April 21, 1900:

This is as far as flat earthers ever go. To them, this is 100% confirmation of their pre-selected conclusion. In reality, however, the Minnesota article paints a different picture than what actually happened. Some idiot flerfs tried to change the existing curriculum by threatening to take people to court.
